Hey there,

My name is Mila, I'm  a Polaroid artist who shoots with vintage Polaroid cameras and mostly expired film. My journey in photography began during my childhood, when I had the opportunity to work alongside my father, developing black and white prints in our small darkroom at home. As a teenager, I dabbled with 35 mm point-and-shoot cameras, and my love for film photography never really faded away. In 2007, I decided to pick up the camera once again, starting with 35 mm and eventually exploring other alternative forms of photography, including medium format.

It was around 2011 when I stumbled upon peel-apart Polaroid, and it was love at first sight. There's something truly magical about each Polaroid—it's like stepping into another dimension. I'm captivated by the unpredictability of the results, the way colors shift, and how it reacts to different lighting and temperatures.

I'm deeply passionate about capturing the beauty of our Northern landscapes. I want to showcase the incredible home we share and evoke a sense of connection and belonging in anyone who views my photographs. My art revolves around themes of love, peace, and care—expressing the emotions and values that mean the world to me.

Experimental photography is also something I adore. Polaroid offers endless possibilities for creativity, and I embrace the opportunity to turn my so-called "fails" into something new and exciting.

For me, polaroid art is a form of meditation. It's my way of connecting with nature and people, and it makes me very, very happy.
